Look and Feel Amazing

cole hahn nike air.jpg
The Cole Haan Nike Air team really is a dream.  Just take a look at this "Greena Air" open toe pump. In any other brand this shoe would pinch or squeeze, but with woven whipstitching and a textured platform heel, all cushioned with the Nike Air sole, what could be better?  $295. at Nordstrom.

Trend Alert

Yes, I agree, it's waaayyyy to early to start talking fall boot fashion. However, an edge is an edge. Last fall the "IT" boot was this Loeffler Randall flat boot (shown above from Shopbop for $750.).  It's not going away, so unless you plan to invest that kind of money, start looking for an alternative cool flat boot so when fall comes, your way ahead of the game (and the bank.)  Check out these below for $85 from Zappos.:

Stars In Stripes

vww41999.JPG
Maybe its a tribute to those sailors or your (distant) cousin in the clink, but I am noticing more and more stars wearing stripes.  Most recently Kate Moss in a black and white stripe blouse with a bow-tie neck, but I am loving this tunic from Vivienne Westwood.  Click here to buy.

Summer Wrap for Love, Peace, Truth, Karma...

IMG_3215.jpg
Sir Alistair Rai Raja Scarves.
We already know that scarves are THE hottest accessory right now.  But what's cooler than this designer bio:
Sir Alistair Rai: Mohandas K. Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Hindu deities, and timeless messages of peace and passive resistance are the inspiration behind Sir Alistair Rai. Kiran Rai's Indian heritage, love for rock-n-roll and fashion have merged to create a fashion line that promotes global awareness. From the wisdom and beauty of our Raja line, featuring one of a kind art work and Swarovski detail, to the wit and social commentary of our Junglee line, there's certain to be a piece for every day. This is Sir Alistair Rai Kiran Rai's collection brings ancient teachings into today's world. These are powerful messages that scream to be heard, and echo with strength. Will Sir Alistair Rai's collections change the world? Probably not, but it could remind the person that wears it that their actions can. After all, beauty, truth and love never go out of style. That said, live truthfully. Namaste: Sir Alistair Rai

The Sir Alistair Raja Scarves have been seen on Nicole Richie, Jessica Alba, Drew Barrymore and Lindsay Lohan.  It is an authentic Hindu & Buddhist prayer wrap. The print is hand-painted by artisans in India. Shown above is the summer peace dupatta scarf in white embroidered Hindu mantra's: Peace.  The fabric is a timeless woven "Gandhi" cotton, which makes the item seasonless and beyond trend, wear a mantra for everyday of the week. LoveQuotes Scarves

lovequotes.jpg
This trend seems to only be getting stronger.  Now it seems every celebrity is wearing their LoveQuotes Scarf around their neck.  The question I am asking - what makes these so special other than their $85 price tag?  Made of Italian linen and super soft, each scarf comes with an inspirational quote on the tag and 10% of net profits go to International Children's Charities. Well, that doesn't exactly answer the question for me, but see them on all the young stars including Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, Amanda Bynes, Lauren Conrad and more at Singer 22.

Summer Lawn Consideration

bigstockphoto_Grass_Plant_167915-1.jpg

It's that time year again and we hear the hum of lawnmowers, blowers and weed wackers.  Not to mention the fertilizers and sprinklers.  Of course, these (like everything, it seems!) have major environmental consequences.  For instance, the average American lawn can use over 20,000 gallons of water each summer.  Want 12 easy steps to have a more eco-friendly lawn care routine?  Read this great article from lowimpactliving.com.

Black Jacket Trend Alert

iisli2002212867_prod_zoom_front_v1_m56577569831086232.jpgI feel momentarily cool because I just bought the black jacket pictured here.  I have been looking for a little black blazer for the past six months and wast thrilled when I got this one in the mail from ShopBop, and it fit to a tee.  And to top it off later that night I was reading US Magazine (bad, bad, bad I know), and they mentioned that this sort of blazer is the must have of the season! So I am sorted. I have the blazer, now if I could just find somewhere to go!

Can a T-Shirt End Poverty?

062207_cox_400X400.jpg
OmniPeace believes that it can!  These t-shirts have raised over $150,000.00 for the Millennium Promise.  OmniPeace was founded by LA-based entreprenuer Mary Fanaro whose vision was to address vital humanitarian as well as further awareness of extreme poverty in sub-saharan Africa while also garnering support for the Millennium Promise.  Millennium Promise continues to ease the needless suffering of thousands of people in sub-Saharan Africa. Ms. Fanaro believes that if we all do our part, we can save the lives of 30 million children who would otherwise die before reaching the age of 5. Her long term goal is to raise enough funds to sponsor an OmniPeace village which would require a donation of $350,000 a year for 5 years and if her success with this campaign so far is any indication, the goal is very achievable.  And you can help just by buying a really cool t-shirt (they now have chic totes, scarves, bracelets and hats!)  Visit OmniPeace to see the celebrities involved (Courtney Cox and David Arquette shown above) and how totally cool the products are!  P.S. They also make great gifts.
