Green Cooking Pots

green pot.jpgAfter years of being scared off by reports of Teflon and Stainless Steel being toxic, there is finally a pot I can feel good about!    I am loving the products from GreenCookingPots.com and they are much cheaper than other colored cast iron pans!

Our greencookingpots are made of enameled cast iron and are free of any chemicals, making them a great alternative to potentially toxic cookware and making healthy cooking affordable and simple. Enameled cast iron absorbs heat and distributes it evenly, making for very efficient cooking, whether it is the slow braising of meats or the simmering of soups. They can be used on any heat source including the oven for casseroles or the making of bread.

Greencookingpots distribute eco friendly "green" cookware. Cooking with greencookingpots absorbs heat and distributes it evenly, making it a very energy efficient means of cooking. Our pots are chemical free, making them a great alternative to potentially toxic cookware. When heated, Teflon emits toxic particles and gasses, linked to countless human health illnesses. Aluminum cookware has raised health concerns due to its effect on the human nervous system and is linked to Alzheimer's Disease. Stainless steel contains both chromium and nickel, (the 18/8 stainless referring to the percentage of each element contained). Both of these substances in the form they are used to make stainless steel are considered toxic to humans, causing a wide range of adverse health effects. The question is how much leaching occurs, but recognizing the increased toxicity levels of our everyday lives, cooking with greencookingpots is an easy choice, and simple way to live healthier.

Proper care of your Greencookingpots will insure a lifetime of use. It is best to use low to medium heat with you pot. Clean up is easy using a non-abrasive sponge and warm soapy water. You can remove any stubborn bits by bringing a little soap with water to simmer for a few minutes, making rinsing all that is necessary, and little lemon juice will lighten any stains Over time some enamel chipping may occur, but this will not affect the quality or performance of your pots. If this occurs you can rub a little oil on the chips to prevent them from rusting. But know that these show the use and love of your cookware and speak of all the wonderful meals you've shared with your family and friends.
