I know it is not healthy to covet something, but I covet my new VitaMix blender. It is my favorite appliance I have ever owned. Almost as exciting as a new car! I highly recommend it despite the close to $500 price tag. I know you think I must be losing it if I am now gaga over a blender, but this is not an ordinary blender. I had the cobalt blue Kitchen Aide blender prior to this one and it suddenly died. I had been seeing the raw restaurants use the VitaMix to whip up nut butters or milk, or make sherbets, smoothies, soups etc., but I really didn't even know the half of it. It is incredibly easy to clean, only two parts, the lid and the pitcher!! And it has a self cleaning function that you just put water and soap inside and blend it up and it works like its own dishwasher. It is really so efficient! And the hardest ice is blended smooth in ten seconds like sorbet! I am definitely in love! Maybe be a good but self serving Father's Day gift! (makes great margaritas and salsas!)May 28

I LOVE my Vitamix, too! You can make everything from smoothies to dressings to fresh organic nut milk to soup to purees...and best of all, you just hand wash with soap and dry! Many other juicers have a bunch of parts and are hard to clean. This lets you have the whole fruit, pulp and all. I have a foodie friend who loves hers so much she takes it with her on vacation! I am not there yet but it really takes "fast" food to a new level. Smoothies in 30 seconds!
