The Singularity Is Near
This is supposed to be an amazing book. I haven't read it (yet) but visit the Singularity website to see what it's about and read the review by Bill Gates.
I am continually trying to make meals - simple yet yummy - from only the freshest of what is the best at the market - organic, local, etc. That means it's hard to just open a cookbook and make what the recipe calls for - putting the chicken before the egg. So I am thrilled to see that Planet Green and Tom Bergeron are going to offer a little support and entertainment to that end: "Each week guests on Supper Club with Tom Bergeron get to indulge in a flawlessly prepared green meal created by some of the most famous eco-chefs in the world. Using local high quality ingredients
grown with sustainable practices and wasting little are common themes
that thread the episodes together. While viewers get to eavesdrop on
some pretty insightful conversation while seeing farm fresh meals come
together, unfortunately, the magic of television still doesn't allow
for taste and smell. For those interested in trying out these fabulous eco-chic
meals, Planet Green will now be posting them on the Web site each week.
Read up on the recipes and learn all about your favorite green chefs.
You don't have to be a world renowned chef to host your own fabulous
eco-friendly dinner party." This should be good.
Who wouldn't love to look this good on their wedding day? Extra butterflies because this entire ensemble is hemp, organic and earth-friendly from Rawganique.com.. They specialize in organic hemp clothing that is sustainable
in from organically grown hemp fibers - so no sweatshop
or child labor and no heavy
metals or harsh chemicals, either. They have a great selection of organic
hemp wedding dresses, hemp jackets and pants, and hemp bridesmaid
dresses. Whether you choose to go formal or beachy it's all good with organic duds that are styling, affirming,
environmentally friendly, elegant, and as pure and sustainable as can
be.
I just discovered this new eco-clothing line and can't quite get enough of it (well, except for the name.) Launched in 2004, Ekovaruhuset is a pioneer in the eco-fashion movement using only organic fabrics, supporting producers that practice fair working conditions and ethics for their employees, and working with materials free from harmful chemicals and animal cruelty. Ekovaruhuset was founded on the belief that fashion cannot be luxurious, stylish or sexy if it is not sustainable, environmentally sensitive and socially responsible. With locations in Stockholm and New York City, Ekovaruhuset is internationally redefining the perception of organic and fair-made fashion with original, stylish creations for women, men and children. Beautiful. Collection.

Naturally Luscious Lips
Right now I am loving Honey Bee Gardens luscious lip gloss. It's enriched with vitamin E, cocoa butter, olive oil and shea butter. It's paraben free and super-moisterizing, perfect for fall. Shiny but not sticky. Find your perfect color at honeybeegardens.com. (I love Innocence - pale pink with watermelon flavor.)

Awesome Green House for 100k
Check out what Inhabitat is posting today: A team of Philadelphia-based green building visionaries have joined
efforts to build a LEED certified home for $100K. After experiencing
frustration at the lack of available modern, green, affordable homes,
developer Postgreen, Interface Studio Architects and building company Level 5 Construction have set out to construct a 1,000 sq ft home for $100 per sq foot, and get it LEED certified. Check out more about it at Inhabitat.

Pure and Beautiful
If you could only have one piece of furniture, what would it be? Ok, maybe a bed, but still, if one piece really defined your personal coolness, would you not love this bench? But wait, there's more. Just check out Design Public and check on sustainable (because we love that sooo much) and see the coolest pieces on the planet. All eco-friendly and telling your story the way it should be.
This piece is from the Orange22 Designer Botanist Series. Eight icons of design have joined forces with Orange22 Design Lab to launch the firm's Blank Canvas Project. All of the high-profile designers have created new editions of Orange22's indoor-outdoor, eco-friendly Botanist furniture. Botanist matches each designers royalty to a foundation or charity of their choice. What could be better?
