Inappropriate Idol?

I will be the first to admit I am more liberal than most so I can't imagine how conservatives must feel about this.  American Idol is a family show and the gratuitous showing of flesh tonight  was really not appropriate!  The fact that the producers brought back the bikini contestant for the final episode was pathetic but even more so was having Kara strip down as well.  My boys, ten and seven, were looking at me for what to think about it.  My two year old daughter, who normally would not have been up was watching as she had a nightmare and had gotten out of bed.  I made the boys change the channel as I felt it was just not appropriate!  And how about the Golden Idol Awards, where they make fun of old contestants by giving them an award and highlight how awful they were.  I didn't like that either.  But you say that is the whole premise of the show, publicly picking apart artists on stage.  That is true, but I was trying to look at it as inspirational as it gives people a shot at their dream.  Well I am going to have to rethink this program for next season.  Until then, congrats to Kris Allen on taking home the title of America's Idol.
