Mean Girls

I see it on the play ground with the way other girls treat my daughter, and I remember it from Junior High, but it really got to me this morning.  I was reading the Worst Dressed of the week becuase Yahoo News had it on their home page, and one of the celebrities that they were making fun of was a friend of mine (sorry no names considering the context).   It was not Yahoo  that was mean, other than saying she had a bad outfit on, it was the mean, scathing remarks by all of the readers, all girls and all so so hurtful.  Trashing everything from her clothes, to her face, to her movies.  I can't imagine that anyone could hold their head up after getting raked over the coals like that.   Suddenly I gained a lot more sympathy for public figures and the ridicule they must take. I mean sure they are public figures so exposed to more scrutiny than a lay person, but they are still human beings.  What do you think?
