I am one day into my two day Disney "vacation". I am sunburned, with blistered feet and up to my ears in Mickey, but I am not surprised. I counted on all of that, but was shocked to find that even Disney is getting a little more 'green'. I am staying at Disney's California Grand Hotel and I always appreciate a little sign in the bathroom that says 'we only change the sheets every three days and wash towels as requested' so as not to waste the planet's resources (oh and it saves the hotel money as well). In addition to the eco-housekeeping measures, I noticed that the gift shop now sells some t-shirts that are 100% organic cotton, as well as some toys that are made with sustainable fabric. There are those (including myself on somedays) that would say these small measures to be more Earth caring are pathetic and that Disney should be more socially responsible. On the other hand, everyone, has to start somewhere, and I appreciate that they have begun the journey toward a more healthy park and Earth.
