I think this sums it up well:
In essence they weren't have a debate -- at least not with each other. They were taking turns fighting for their own internal objectives which had little to do with the opponent. That's what made it more boring than expected.
Yes, Palin did well if what you're comparing it to is her CBS interviews and other Daily Show fodder. Is she ready to be Vice-President and, more than likely, interim President? Oh, hellllls no.
Don't take it from me though. Larry Lessig is far more qualified than I to judge. And he did: Palin's experience in just 12 minutes.
