Money Under the Mattress?

Okay, am I the only one who wants to take the money out of the bank and put it under the mattress? With all of the banks closing and Wall Street in a downward spiral, I am starting to fear that I am going to wake up one day without a dime to my name.  I have always had this tendency as I worry about everything, but people would always tell me that the bank was the safest place for my money.  I wonder what they would say today?
