Newman's Own Time
I loved Paul Newman. Cute, talented, smart and eco. I can only hope to have as impactful life as he led as an actor, philanthropist and business person. I was sadden today to hear that his time had come. My heart goes out to his family, and I am hoping that now that he is on the other side he can continue spreading his good energy around as he was one person who was definitely making the world a better place.I wanted to do a tribute on the site, so I did a search of photos and this photo perplexed me... what is Mr.Newman's Own doing promoting McDonald's (two years ago at the Cleveland Grand Prix)?

So strong!
Having saggy biceps, I am incredibly envious of toned arms. Brooke is looking so strong here at a pre-emmy party last week. I remember talking to her once a few years back, and asking her what she did for the upper body, but for the life of me I can't remember the answer now. I was more interested in hearing about her then upcoming book on post-partum depression, which I had an awful case of. Anyway, in real life she is as sweet and adjusted unlike a lot of other Hollywood stars.

Congrats to Kathy Griffin for winning best reality series for My Life on the D-List. I love her (but not so much her fashion choice)...hmmmm. Another of my favorites was Heidi Klum, just for being Heidi and looking so stunning....loved her dress!Sep 22

Money Under the Mattress?
Okay, am I the only one who wants to take the money out of the bank and put it under the mattress? With all of the banks closing and Wall Street in a downward spiral, I am starting to fear that I am going to wake up one day without a dime to my name. I have always had this tendency as I worry about everything, but people would always tell me that the bank was the safest place for my money. I wonder what they would say today? Disturbing
Ok, I just read this AM that sales of wig up-doo's (sp) like Palin's have increased ten fold and that phones are ringing off the hook to find out what color lipstick she wears, who makes her glasses and anything else they can about her style. That is disturbing for two reasons... one, in my opinion, it is not 'good' style and two, you would think they would be more concerned about her views than her spectacles. By the way, the photo above is of McCain not Palin, not because I did not want to promote her style, but because it is really hard to find pictures of her on the web that you can obtain legally as she is such a new comer. I love Greenhome.com as they always have the latest cool green things.... Today they have a sale on these easy to install shower heads that remove the chlorine... Only $39 this week... I wish I hadn't just bought some others at Home Depot last month because with this one the filter is recyclable as well!Sep 6

I love Jennifer Garner! She is so smiley and sweet and is one of the only celebrities who is more beautiful in real life than on TV. Oh, and she is not affected. I met her a few years back and she could not have been more girl next door. Here she is at the Stand Up to Cancer event in Hollywood this past week.

The Ultimate Soccer Mom
OMG... I love this.... read this letter I got from a woman in my community today!
Dear Parents,
Talking to friends I came to realize that, at the start of this soccer season,
many of us are left with soccer gear that no longer fits.
Do you have one or more pairs of soccer cleats in your garage but none
fit your children ?
I would like to try out a recycling program for soccer cleats and
shinguards.
I have two bins set up next to my driveway, one for soccer
cleats, one for shinguards.
Ideally, bring the soccer cleats and shinguards that no longer
fit your child(ren) and grab a pair that does fit.
If you do not have any pair(s) to trade in and are new to soccer,
feel free to take a pair that fits your child(ren).
If you are dropping off cleats but can't find the size you need,
leave me a note with the size you are looking for and I will
give you a call when I see some.
PLEASE, only take what your child can use THIS season,
and if you take a pair without donating one,
return it at the end of the season!
(I'll have a chair and soccer socks available so your child can try on shoes)
Yippee.. school is back but what's up with our public school getting out at 1:15 two days a week?? What kind of deal is that? Whatever happened to 3:30? Bum deal if you ask me.
