Short and Sweet

michellewilliams.jpg

With a face like this any sort of hair looks great.  But for the rest of us the question must be asked: Can I wear short hair?  I revisit the issue every year around this time when warmer weather begins to emerge.  Short hair is defined as hair that falls above the shoulder line.  Of course, there are many degrees of short hair.  The shorter the short hair style the harder it is to look right on every woman's face.  Whatever length you choose, the hairstyle should accentuate the positives of your face.

If you have a round face, you may try to make the face appear longer by cutting your short hair into layers as opposed to blunt ends.  Wispy ends flatter the round face while straight, blunt cuts make the round face appear more round.

If you have a long face, blunt ends actually prove to widen the look of the face. Longer faces may want to appear more wide to detract from the length of the face so the shortest of short hair styles should be avoided because they actually make the face appear more lengthy. The perfect short hair style for the longer face may just be the chin length bob.

Short hair can and does look great no matter the size or shape of the face.  Any confident woman can achieve it with the right length of cut and the perfect hair ending.  (Oh yeah, a great stylist helps.)

Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent

Cynthia Vincent made her shoe debut at the fall/winter NYC fashion week.  "The designer's eclectic style, coupled with her modern translation of vintage fashion has made  TWELFTH STREET an obvious choice for fashion editors as well as the entertainment industry. Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson and Rachel Bilson are among an evolving and devoted celebrity following."  In her own words  "To me, what is most inspiring is seeing a woman who is at once feminine, stylish, comfortable, and most of all, original," says Vincent.  To me, its just classy and colorful.  See for yourself.

A Little Heart (and mind) Go a Long Way

John Breen, a computer programmer from Indiana, devised a PC-based vocabulary game that quizzes your knowledge of thousands of words with a click of your mouse.  Originally, he developed the game in attempt to motivate his son to study for the SATs.  But once he realized what he had, he decided to tie the game into a cause he was most passionate about - world hunger.  For each correct answer, his program donates 20 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program.  So far the "game" has donated 20 billion grains - enough to feed nearly a million people for a day.  Visit freerice.com and play!

True Love Needs No Jumping

Jane Carrey, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy.

How good is this?  Jim Carrey recently on the Oprah Show: "I'm very in love, but I'm not going to jump up and down on your couch.  I'm Sorry."  So love really is mature.
